Community Involvement Programmes (CIP)
In line with the strategic thrust of Enhancing Lives, Tampines Primary School places great emphasis on its Community Involvement Programme (CIP). Through its many activities, the school aims to nurture a strong sense of commitment to serve the school and the community, a sense of responsibility to the environment and a spirit of volunteerism in our pupils and staff.
Besides school-based CIP such as Share – A – Meal, whereby pupils contributed their pocket money for the needy ones and Food from the Heart Food Drive, our partnership with the community also avails good platforms for our pupils to meet authentic needs. Pupils are actively involved in keeping the environment clean and contributing their services during many community celebrations.
TPS staffs are also actively involved in community work. The school dedicates a day during their annual Staff Retreat as Staff CIP day where all staffs are involved in community work. The bonding and camaraderie among staff are even stronger after a day well spent together!
Share A Meal
Tampines Primary School strongly believes that every child can learn and excel. In line with this guiding principle, TPS strongly supports Share – A – Meal programme. Share-A-Meal is MILK's (Mainly I Love Kids) annual fund-raising effort that culminates on every 7th day of the Lunar New Year (traditionally known as "everybody's birthday"). On this day and during the preceding months, we encourage our pupils and staffs to "share a meal" with the less privileged by simply giving the cash value of their meal on that day. This reminds us that we all have a shared responsibility to help the disadvantaged and disabled. Funds raised from Share-A-Meal will enable these children to move beyond their difficulties and give them opportunities which they would otherwise not have.
Food from the Heart (Food Goodies Bag Programme)
Our strong partnership with Food From the Heart (FFTH) stems from the belief Tampines Primary School has that every child can learn and excel. To support the Food Goodies Bag Programme, the school organized annual in-house Food Drive, to collect non-perishable food items from parents of our pupils. Food items collected are channeled to sustain FFTH’s Food Goodie Bag Programme for the needy families. Through this Food Drive, pupils are more aware of the less privileged around them, and in turn showed more care and concern for their peers.

Staff CIP
Staff of Tampines Primary School in collaboration with Food from The Heart organised and carried out our 3rd Staff CIP Day ( Charity Food Drive ) during the June vacation on 25th June 2010.The main objective for this activity was to raise community awareness for the less fortunate and at the same time served as a platform for staff bonding. It was indeed a refreshing and great experience to all staff involved as they were deployed to different neighbouring blocks in Tampines East to collect food items from the residents.

The staff led by our Principal, Mrs Wong, were warmly welcomed by the residents who gave such an overwhelming response to our donation drive. The food items were donated to the Goodies Bag Programme by the Food from The Heart Organisation and they were distributed to the needy families in Singapore.
This activity provided an excellent opportunity for our staff to contribute to the less fortunate in our society and it was definitely all for a very good cause.
