Portfolio Assessment
Portfolio assessment is an extension of SEED. A portfolio is a collection of learning tasks, each based on a theme. As opposed to the conventional worksheets, a learning task is a group-oriented activity that combines cognitive, behavioural and affective elements. Disciplinary knowledge and skills in Mathematics and English are built into the learning tasks. Pupils acquire these disciplinary knowledge and skills in the course of accomplishing a task. Emphasis is also placed on experiential learning through the use of learning journeys and group activity.
Some examples of Portfolio Assessment activities:
- Show & Tell
- Using Shapes to create pictures
- Budgetting
