A selected group of pupils embarked on an Australia Immersion Programme where they visited Berwick Lodge Primary School in Melbourne. During their visits, they were orientated into the classrooms and actively participated in the activities planned. Pupils also learnt about the culture and practices of the Australians. In addition to the enriching experience within the local schools, the pupils were provided with exposure to learning beyond the classrooms such as visits to the local Pet Zoos, Dinosaurs Exhibition Center and Philip Island.
The Philip Island was certainly the highlight of the trip as pupils for the first time, got to come up close and personal with the inhabitants of the island, the Penguins.
School leaders, teachers and pupils of Berwick Lodge Primary School came over for their first visit to Tampines Primary School in August 2011. They joined the pupils in the National Day Observance Ceremony, as well as the National Day celebrations. Tampines Primary School will embarked on our 2nd visit to Melnourne in end 2012.
