VISIT FROM Shandong University 2nd Affiliated Primary School (SUAPS), China in August 2012
Tampines Primary School welcomed and hosted a group of 25 pupils and 3 teachers from Shandong University 2nd Affiliated Primary School (SUAPS) in August 2012. This is the 6th year where both schools have such exchange programme. This exchange programme provided opportunities for both groups of pupils to be immersed in an environment where they could broaden their knowledge of other cultures and also to build their character.
During the three days exchange programme, all SUAPS pupils were given the opportunity to interact with TPS pupils and learn more about Singapore history, culture and customs. Our pupils were assigned to host a Chinese buddy to help eased them into the school routine, lessons and also to familiarize them with the school environment. A half-day home visit was also arranged for SUAPS pupils to visit their buddy’s house, exchange gifts and enjoy local food.
We hoped that the friendship between the 2 schools will continue to grow from strength to strength from these exchange programmes!
