In alignment to the strategic focus to enhancing the lives of our pupils, Tampines Primary School aims to equip pupils with lifeskills, develop their characters and leadership traits through the wide range of Co-curricula Activities (CCA) lined up. This is to create a positive environment which instills in pupils habits of mind that leads to exhibition of intelligent behaviours such as being self-disciplined, self-motivated, morally upright and loyal citizens with a mindset for excellence. The wide range of CCA caters to the different needs of the pupils. Pupils are given a freedom of choice over the CCA they wish to engage in.

In TPS, we believe that pupils of all levels should be given the opportunity to participate in CCA. We are also offering a variety of CCAs to the pupils in P1 and P2 under the category of Lower Primary CCA.  The CCA programme is grouped into 4 main categories:

- Core CCA
- General CCA
- Modular CCA
- Lower Primary CCA

Core CCA:

This main aim of this category of CCA in Tampines Primary School is o build the niches of excellence for the school in the bid to bring glory to school, the CCA itself and the pupils. Strong emphasis will be placed on Core CCAs including strategic allocation of resources in terms of teachers, facilities and budget. Besides pupils signing up to join the CCAs, the school will also talent identify the pupils with potential to do well in the various Core CCAs. This will be done through Learn-to-play programmes, lower primary CCA programmes and PE lessons. Quality external coaches and instructors are employed to train the pupils.

General CCA:

The main aims of the General CCA is to provide students with the opportunity to develop in-depth of core subject areas and to develop students holistically through the uniformed groups. There will be emphasis on development of talent and training for IP based competitions. TPS will strategically allocation of resources in terms of teachers, facilities and budget t develop the talents of pupils in this areas. From 2009, some IP clubs are also focusing on arousing the interests of weaker pupils in the various subject areas. External instructors are also employed in some of these CCAs to provide professional expertise.

Modular CCA:

The main aim of the Modular CCAs is to create a platform to expose the pupils to different types of activities apart from those CCAs traditionally offered in schools. Pupils are given the flexibility and choice to take up the CCA in the term they like to. Pupils can also take up 4 different activities for the year if they wish to. Pupils are expected to pay a fee for these activities which are conducted by professional external vendors. These Modular CCAs also changes from year to year and the same CCA may offer learning at a higher grade level.

Lower Primary Modular CCA:

The main aim of the Lower Primary CCA is to create a platform to expose the pupils to different types of activities from a young age. Pupils are expected to pay a fee for these activities which are conducted by professional external vendors. These CCA provide the P1 and P2 pupils a chance to learn to play a sport, learn about choral singing as well as learn the basics of Chinese Dance. These CCA are organized for a total of 12 sessions spread over Term 2 and Term 3. The school also uses these CCA as the platforms for talent identification and development.
